“Celebrate PRIDE”

Join us downtown on FIRST Friday and kickoff June to CELEBRATE PRIDE in North Adams, MA. Make your own FREE accessories to wear to North Adams Pride on June 12 with a craft table hosted under the Mohawk Theatre awning from 6–8pm.

Downtown businesses will have extended hours and many galleries will be hosting openings, closings, and other special events! The following events have been planned by downtown and organizations businesses:

  • MOSAIC EventSpace: Tell Me What You Learned Tuesday |  A performance written and performed by Tom Truss and co-created and directed by Amy Brentano. Admission is free and open to the public. Content of performance is appropriate for those 18+ | 7:00 p.m. | 49 Main Street

  • Common Folk: Experimentations by Crystal Toro - Reception: Crystal Toro explores a variety of mediums and techniques to create beautifully unique pieces. Her debut exhibition explores self expression, overcoming tribulations, and queer joy. | Crystal Toro is a lesbian, Latinx portrait artist from Long Island, New York. She experiments with different mediums such as oil pastels, watercolor, ink and gouache. Her favorite subjects to draw are women, especially women of color. Growing up in a predominately white, conservative suburb, Crystal ensured representation was of utmost importance in her artwork. | 6:00– 8:00 p.m. | 165 E Main Street

  • Door Prize: First Fridays Pride Punch drink special and Vinyl Party with DJ Ketchabones | 8:00–10:00 p.m. | 40 Main Street

  • Future Lab[s]: Opening Reception “Souvenirs from Venice” by Anna Salmeron, featuring work by more than twenty participating artists and “Radius Lucis” by Bo Petran  | 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. | 43 Eagle Street

  • Steeple City Social: Rainbow Dance Party with DJ Hairy Debbie | 5:00–10:00 p.m. | 5 Eagle Street

  • Alison Pebworth’s Studio and Project Space: Open Studio | 6:00–8:00  | 40 Eagle Street

  • Savvy Hive: Teen Takeover - Teens will have the chance to make their own laundry detergent and bring home an item of clothing. To make the evening complete, we’ll be providing plenty of free food, ensuring that teens can fuel their creativity while building relationships with each other and the community. | 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. | 53 Main Street 

  • Gallery North: Opening Reception featuring works by a Guest Artist. The exhibit will accompany new work by permanent gallery artists Marilyn Cavallari, Sean McCusker, Barbara Patton, Stephen Dankner, and Carol Shumans | 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. | 9 Eagle Street

  • Bright Ideas: FIRST Friday After Party: 8–11:00 p.m. | 111 MASS MoCA Way

Our goal is to get folks downtown on the first Friday of every month by partnering with businesses and galleries in North Adams.
