Small Business Anniversary

Cinnamon Girl Pure Botanicals keeps up with sales during the pandemic

This week we talked to Nina Kilroe, owner of Cinnamon Girl Pure Botanicals, it is tucked in the corner of the Oasis Plaza and opened in May 2019. Kilroe said she chose to open her alternative and holistic health store in North Adams because of her adoration for the Berkshires. She first visited in the early ’90s and while many things have changed, the heart of the city has stayed the same, Kilroe said.

Unfortunately, Kilroe’s one year anniversary wasn’t what she hoped for as the coronavirus forced the city into lockdown. Knowing that her business helps people kept Kilroe motivated to remain positive.

“It has been a struggle but it was so important for me to not give up for myself, my family and for the customers of this community that have come to know me well and who love my store,” she said. “Helping people get their medicinal herbs, homeopathic remedies, and items that just make my customers smile and feel better is not only vital during a pandemic but when things are good as well.”

Cinnamon Girl Pure Botanicals sells high-quality sustainability grown bulk herbs, loose teas, supplements, extracts, essential oils, body care products, stones, crystals, smudges, incense, Tibetan singing bowls, books, spell and ritual supplies and many many gifts. Kilroe makes a lot of her products right in the store and said she has enjoyed sharing her herbalist expertise with the North Adams community.

“The North Adams community has been so welcoming and not just the herbalists, witches, gypsies and hippies, but people of all ages and genders come here to shop because it is a judgment-free warm place,” she said.

Stop by Cinnamon Girl Pure Botanicals between 1 and 5, Wednesdays through Fridays. Keep up with Kilroe on Facebook here.
